  Bethelites - did they read the Bible in a year?

  as many of you know, bethelites are "required" to read the entire bible within a year when they serve there.

  my question, to any who served there or who may know any who did, is: did they really read the entire bible in year's time?

  frankly, i wonder how this "requirement" could be met, seeing how long the scheduled work hours are plus the other things that are expected of them.

  I read about 80%. I got sick of the letters asking if I was none. So I sent the above letter {mikemustos post} to them. It was my first lie, to the borg, I was sure I was going to hell.

  Not that it mattered, but we were working 50 hours a week, had primary class after monday WT study. Tuesday it was a 2 hour subway ride for and 1 hour book study. Wedsday it was the home work for the primary class, and study for the thursday night meeting. Thursday we went straight from work to the meeting, got home about 11:00 pm. Friday we came home got a hero and a quart of beer, and crashed. Saturday we worked half a day, maybe had a dish duty to 2:00 pm. We had watchman duties at the towers hotel sometimes, Sundays it we got up early and back out to the cong. for meetings and service until about 4:00 p.m.

  There was no reason to lie. But since they already ask me to lie anyway. What the hell.

  My overseer at the time said, "Gary Kennedy will die at armageddon Keith. You do believe that, don't you?"

  "yes brother overseer"

  Good old fear of man.

  The Pope dies and goes to heaven {of course}, Saint Peter is showing him around. They come to this big room an millions of CATHOLICS are having a party, The Pope said " I knew it------- I knew we where RIGHT!" They walk on to the next room, its full of millions of HINDUS they're all playing bingo. They come yet to another room full of atheists and they are all on a huge beach drinking rum and cokes. WOW! says the Pope I had no idea. They come to the last room, The door is shut, "Who's in there?" the Pope asked "Quiet!" says Saint Peter thats full of Jehovah's Witnesses they think they're the only ones up here"!

  Where to liquidate WT library?

  after some yrs, i've acquired quite a library of wt publications, as have many of you all i'm sure.

  how did you rid yourself of them after you felt you no longer wanted anything wt related?

  amazon, ebay, local book store, sell them back to brothers, burn them at apostate party, other...?.

  Why would you want anyone to read that stuff?

  If you were a drug addict and gave it up, but you still had drugs. Would you want to sell them to someone else?

  What business is the WTBTS in anyway?

  what prompts this question is my personal experience in attempting to obtain wt literature: i tried through my wife, who still attends a meeting or two, to obtain, via special order, two large print bibles (one in a major foreign language) and a concordance.

  it turned out to be a cumbersome process that took a full six months to fill the order!

  i don't know whether my experience is an aberration, but i've heard similar complaints from others regarding the length of time it takes bethel to deliver on the goods in anything but magazine orders.. watchtower bible and tract society?

  Most people don't contribute enough money for those big books. So by waiting some of the old folks will die in 6 mo. Or also Armageddon could come, and save them some money too.

  I lean to the eastern way of thought. I don't believe dogma, eastern or other wise. The Buddist thought helped me get on my currant path. Are you a libra? I was born on Oct.1 I'm a double Libra.

  You mention regression, This very helpful, You may want a canneling. many of your questions will be answered. I say many not all because we only get the information that is for are highest and most good.

  You don't have to feel what I say is true or not. I'm not srarting another church, or looking for followers. All dogma is not true.

  I'm just giving another another way of looking outside the box------- your box. A Box you are convinced is real.

  I don't know what Big Texs has experienced.I don't know what you have experienced, and you my friend don't know what I have experienced. All I'm suggesting is there is another way to look at any experience.

  WE have been everthing or will be everything, for some people this is there first time on earth, I have personally have been here over 3100 times most of these times I have not been human. There is no better or worse we are all part of the same thing all are part of God We are all heading away from and towards God at the same time. There is no Time as we know it. everything is happening at the same time. That was the hardest thing for me to remember. We know everything there is to know, We chose to remember it or not.

  Everone thinks they are Cleopatra? Maybe so I never was YET. A soul can chose to be more then one person at one time, I know of 3 people who say the were Moses, and it is possible that all were or are. Since there is no time I could chose the experience, of being Cleopatra still yet.

  You were NOT a bad boy in your last life again there is no good or bad. You have just chose to have a different experience this life, maybe you chose a life of lack, or pain, or to learn the leason of forgiveness. Remember ther is free will these are all things You have chosen to experience for yourself. Enjoy the trip!

  We chose not to know, thats the whole reason to have the the experience. Would you what to go to a movie if you knew everything that was going to happen in it? Or someone was sitting next to you telling you what was going to happen next? You chose no to remember the life, you have chosen for youself. There is plenty of time to review your life on the other side, where we spend most of our time anyway.
